| Date: 21 September 2011 - Author: Antara | | A total of 350 Muslim figures from 51 countries are expected to attend a meeting to be organized by the Indonesian Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Board here in January 2012. | The gathering will take place from January 24 through 30, 2012, so that the related parties in the country should make the international event a success, said Dr. Aidit Aziz, assistant to the provincial administration for people`s welfare affairs said here on Tuesday.
"The meeting will among other things discuss developments in the Islamic world, including economic affairs," he said.
To ensure the meeting`s success, South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin had set up a local organizing committee chaired by the provincial government`s secretary, H. Yusri Effendi.
The world Muslims meeting was to be opened by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. |
