| Date: 22 September 2010 - Author: Antara | | Vice President Boediono attended a reception to mark the 60th anniversary of the relations between Indonesia and China here on Tuesday. | Boediono was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Political, Security and Legal Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Minister for Protection and Empowerment of Women Linda Gumelar, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Radjasa and Industry Minister MS Hidayat at the reception highlighted by a painting exhibition to also mark the 61st Chinese independence anniversary. Boediono said the 60th anniversary of the relations between Indonesia and China and the 61st anniversary of China`s independence were two very important events for the state.
He said Indonesia had always put its relations with China at the most important level. "And I hope the relations between the two countries could be continuously improved, made closer and more productive," he said. Chinese ambassador Zhang Qiyue meanwhile said this year marks the 60th anniversary of the two countries` relations and 61st anniversary of the Chinese independence. "I hope the younger generation would continue developing the relations between the two countries that have been developed by the two governments," he said.
Qiyue said the two countries` friendly relations would be made stronger following among others the two countries` agreement to build strategic partnership in various fields including culture, education and others. "And the most important thing is the relations between the two countries` communities or people-to-people relations," he said. After the speeches Boediono`s wife Mrs Herawati and Ambassador Qiyue jointly cut the cake to mark the anniversary, followed by a tour of the painting exhibition. |
